Worth Every Risk by Rae Ryder

Matt makes me sad. Like genuinely. Rae does a fantastic job of showing the duality of his exterior anger with the immediate interior regret. Having anger issues from a life full of trauma is something people without that specific experience can’t genuinely understand. It’s debilitating and frustrating and makes you feel so desperate. The man obviously wants to be a good father but just continuously fails at every turn because of his own trauma. Matt Hawkston is easily Rae Ryder’s best written MMC from what I’ve read of her work.

Aries is weird and not my vibe but at least she’s a genuinely good person. While it’s easy to find myself rolling my eyes at some of the things she says/her internal dialogue, it’s hard to hate her when her intentions and motives are so genuinely pure.

Charlie deserves better than every single thing that’s ever happened to him. Cut him a damn break.

Lucie was my favorite, fuck Gemma for being the mom that she is.
