Truly, Madly, Deeply by L.J. Shen
I had a fucking blast with this one. Consumed it in less than 24 hours. Feral for it. The FMC was so unhealthily relatable I couldn’t help but love her deeply. The MMC was perfectly unhinged in a way that was bordering unhealthy but didn’t actually cross the line. Tame if he were the lead in a romantasy, but for a proper romance, he was divine. I am comically obsessed with Cal and Row’s dynamic and their genuine obsession with each other. Everyone should be loved like that.
The crime aspect was an unusual departure from typical romance novels and I can’t say I’m upset about it. Outside of the relationship itself, the plot was dynamic and compelling. As much as I loved Cal and Row, I really really enjoyed the other characters and how their stories played out within the novel.
I guess if this pregnancy is going to keep me from sleeping, I can’t really think of a better way to spend my insomniac nights. Will absolutely reread in the future.
HOWEVER, Gravity is the stupidest fucking name imaginable for a child and I will die on that hill.
(And the cucumber/candy cane thing was WEIRD)
