“Sex and killing was all I’m good for.” Yayyyyy a knockoff Ryder… how completely exciting…
I got my fill of the “born to be enemies” shit, thank you. Dante and Ryder, the Vegas and the Heirs. Please, spare me. Do something original. I don’t need more gang shit being hashed out. Especially since it’s not even like it’s a prison gang or something, it’s just more Lunar Brotherhood and Oscura Clan. And hasn’t there been peace between the two for like ten years? Ryder and Dante kinda ensured that when they went beneath the stars and became Nebula Allies or whatever the fuck after shmashing the same girl. Was that just a figment of my imagination? Because it feels like that’s why they attempted to assassinate Ryder? (Assumed to have worked, sure, but Ethan knew Ryder wanted peace and explicitly stood by him, respected him, and supported him.)
Ethan is boring now. He was the most compelling and interesting character toward the end of Ruthless Boys and now this is what we get? This simpering little bitch pining after a girl? These authors truly know how to take powerful men and turn them into pussy whipped babies (same with their badass female characters too, just not to the same extreme degree), eliminating everything about them that made them any kind of interesting or unique. Just another dick to shove into the main character. Maybe that’s why I genuinely preferred Caleb and Seth’s story so so much more than anyone else’s. They still managed to maintain their original character traits just with the addition of feelings for each other. Why can’t the authors manage that outside of a gay couple too? (I have the same complaint about Roary that I do Ethan, just the a slightly lesser degree.
Also, two reverse harems in one universe? Boring. The dudes should have also been boning in this one. Give me a proper poly relationship like in Losers by Harley Laroux. This is just another girl sucks lotta dick and the dicks just go along with it cos girl hot after fighting each other for an ungodly amount of time.
I just love a Grus!!!!
I mean… she kinda deserved that ending, though, no? The definition of fucking around and finding out. Anyway, I was thoroughly bored and unimpressed through most if not all of this book. I don’t like Sin, he’s too pushy. I don’t like Cain, he’s too ragey even for me. I don’t like what they’ve done to Ethan’s character. I don’t like the age gap with Roary because of the inherent ickiness of the presumed power dynamic.
