The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

A fantastic recipe book for the first quarter. I was salivating. Constantly hungry with every description. No complaints.

ARE YOU A VIRGIN? Alessandra, baby, shut up. I was both kicking my feet like a giddy little girl and cringing internally.

So, we know what Hektor was, then. “Someone else fresh and inexperienced-” We all know what that’s code for.

We love a man who demands respect for a lady.

The set dressing was so finely detailed, so immersive. Set dressing has the tendency to bore me to tears most of the time, but I loved the imagery presented through the novel.

Not me rooting for Leandros because he communicates his feelings in a succinct way and doesn’t hide behind the broody male lead archetype. Obviously he won’t get the girl because he isn’t the broody male lead, but for a few chapters, I’m happy to pretend he has a chance. Woof this take aged poorly. I… I was not expecting that…

I was so enamored with the whole book I barely made any notes. Barely thought of anything other than the details, the plot, what might happen next, will she get caught, UGH. It was so good, I didn’t want to put it down even to note details for my review because that would have taken me out of the moment.
