Savage Fae by Susanne Valenti & Caroline Peckham
I’m so beyond furious with Ryder for his bullshit temper tantrums and going so far as to threaten Elise. Leon is making real, tangible effort to change while Ryder consistently doubles down on his shit behavior. Him walking away at the end, though? What a man. I’m never getting over that. Also never getting over the ice cream scene, either.
I love that the second Gabriel realized how much Elise was willing to sacrifice to avenge her brother, he was fully on board to help her with no second thoughts. Adding another lie to his growing list, though? That’s going to backfire in a really intense way, I imagine. He’s doing such a good job of making me tired as hell despite being my favorite. His wishy washy bullshit is getting old. More than anything, he needs to decide what side of the line he wants to be on and stay there.
I still don’t like Dante. Even a little, but I also really prefer the gang politics plot line over any of the stuff with Elise’s brother. I feel like as a whole, it’s more interesting and a more compelling way to drive the narrative since she’s actively embroiled with both gang leaders.
Anyway, as a whole, Savage Fae wasn’t as engaging as Dark Fae. Here’s hoping book three hooks me a little better than this one did. I want this to be a 5 star series as a whole because I actually do love it so far.
