Born in Silver by A.T. Veatch

✨️4.25✨️

Book two had a significant increase in elements of horror and, whew, I loved it. My timbers were shivered in all the best ways.

I also loved the high stakes coupled with the quick moving plot. It really heightened the tension.

Still also deeply adore a man with baggage when it translates into being an "over"protective baddie. I want to say, "Chill babe, it's not that deep", but... It kind of is. Their world is a wreck, so I can't really fault him for being a bit of a relatable wreck, too.

I couldn't help but feel bad for Shentelle, but she's so strong, I can't help but think pity is a little wasted on her. Yeah, life sucks but she's not going to stop until it's her bitch and there's a lot to be said about that.

The lack of balance between pacing and detail is a little better in book two, but I would have still liked a little more immersion.

I'm excited to see what's in store for book 3!
