Beyond the Veil by Susanne Valenti & Caroline Peckham
I didn’t need this. For someone enjoying the series more than me, this is probably great because it offers different perspectives of events, but I wasn’t invested in the main events let alone this behind the curtain view.
But I will say, just as an aside, it shouldn’t have taken Darius dying and being a spying little creep to realize Seth and Caleb have feelings for each other. Geraldine can see it, Darcy would have seen it if she hadn’t already known, Xavier can see it, and Max would have been able to see it even if it weren’t for his Siren gifts. The only people who can’t see it are Tory and Darius because they’re chronically selfish and will actively acknowledge there’s something weird going on with Caleb and Seth but then immediately brush it off because ‘y and z’ are more important. He shouldn’t have had to see them fighting and screwing from the beyond to have the epiphany that they’re clearly in love with each other especially when everyone else could already see it.
