A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber
I’m sorry??? Am I stupid??? What the hell is up with the apples????
I was starting to slip a bit there in the middle. It was starting to get alarmingly repetitive, and my mind was starting to wander. However, I was quickly reeled back in because what the hell Apollo? We very quickly went full, unabashed villain. The tree? Poetic justice, in my humblest of opinions. At no point did I really feel he truly loved Evangeline. He was just obsessed with her, with the idea of her. Because in a way, it was almost like, if I don’t have her what really was the point in going through all of this? So, he kind of held on so tightly it was easy to convince himself the lingering remnants of the curse and his budding obsession were all actually love.
Mmmmmm, Jacks. He was even more chaotic than usual this go round and I can’t say I’m not pleased. I wish we had gotten more time with him and less with Apollo, but I ate up what we did get. I love how much he loves Evangeline. The side by side of his love versus Apollos and the way each man treats her was more telling than any declarations either man could have made.
Evangeline did her thing. She was passionate and bold, and she followed her heart. I can’t help but love her.
